While we also maintain a YouTube channel, we decided it would be good to also have our videos available on our website. Below are some if the videos we have produced via footage from a variety of sources, including our DJI Phantom Quadcopter, Go Pro and normal DSLR. We hope you enjoy the videos and hope they inspire you to take your own adventures!!
To answer a question we often receive, “What kind of solar system do you have on your RV?”, we put together another DIY type video to explain. We discuss what the components of our system, how they work and how the system performs for us.
While visiting the Mount Whitney area, we discovered an awesome waterfall that was still showing signs of the winter. It made for some dramatic footage.
We spent an amazing week at the Trona Pinnacles in California. It was a crazy other worldly kind of landscape and I tried to capture some of the feel in this video.
Yet another of my DIY series of videos. This time we installed seat swivels in the front our 2013 Seneca to add some new seating.
Early in 2016 we spend a weekend at the Imperial Sand Dunes in California with family and friends. Check out some of the action.
We spent New Years 2016 in the desert at Borrego Springs in California with a great group of fulltime travelers. Here is a little taste of the two weeks we spent there.
This was my second DIY video, taking care of a grey tank odor we were having in the RV
My first shot at a DIY type video. I documented the process of installed a thermostatic control valve in our Seneca.
While traveling Route 66 we stopped at some great little places of the past and I took the opportunity to get the Phantom up and try and capture some of the past…
I took some video when we made the upgrade from our 2006 Seneca to the new to use 2013 Seneca. It was exciting and sad all at the same time!
I was able to get the Phantom up in the air at Eldora again! This time I watched the truck series haulers file into the infield of the track. Something I had not ever seen from above, so I thought it was worth a video.
On Toni’s bucket list was to see a race at Eldora Speedway, the dirt track in Ohio owned by Nascar driver Toni Stewart. She hoped to see the “Prelude to the Dream” in which many Sprint Cup drivers participated in a modified race. Unfortunately, they are not running that race any longer. But, they have started a new tradition, the “Mud Summer Classic”. This is a Nascar Camping World Track Series race here at Eldora’s dirt track. We scored tickets and a camping spot! We arrived after some pretty heavy rain, so we were pretty much stuck in the mud in our campsite, but I did get a chance to take some fun footage with the Phantom!!
While researching ancestry in Pennsylvania, Toni discovered there is a campground on Pymatuning Lake called Tuttle Campground. The campground is named after her great-great grandpa Carl Tuttle. Unfortunately it has been closed down since 2010 due to state budget cuts. I felt it would be great to produce a video of the campground…..
Visiting with my sister in Boston this week and spend some time at their “camp”, Grandview Campground in Rochester, New Hampshire and decided to take the Phantom up for a trip around the skies.
So as we entered the states of Vermont and New Hampshire, we started hearing about all the covered bridges they have here. For some reason I have always have I find these old wooded structures to be a very cool part of our past. As we visited several of them, we finally came across one that was close to traffic as it had some damage. Perfect time to pull out the quadcopter and get some video! Below is footage of our time at the Rowell’s Covered Bridge in Hopkinton, New Hampshire
One of the biggest differences in full time RVing in the East vs the West is the lack of “boondocking” or wildcamping. This basically means free areas that you can just get out in nature and enjoy the environment and wildlife without a campground or any fees. You have to be totally self-contained and your quality of experience is based totally upon your own level of preparation. Having modified our RV to spend weeks off the grid, this is our favorite type of spot. VERY few of these out in East. Well we finally found a great spot in Maryland that was on the E.A. Vaughn Wildlife Management Area! We spent a glorious 6 days with the area all to ourselves. Here is a short video of our time there…
Although we had nearly a week of straight rain while we visited the McDowell Nature Preserve in Charlotte North Carolina, we did still manage to squeeze in some great outdoor time. Spring is upon us and the park was alive with color…
A little video from our time at Curry Hammock State Park on Marathon Key in Florida. Managed to catch a sting ray swimming by and an awesome sunset.
3/14/2015 is International Drone Day and while we spent the evening at a Harvest Host location in Florida I managed to get in a sunset flight to take part in this historic day.
We attended the 2015 Daytona 500 and I put together a little video
While we spend time on the Florida panhandle at the Pensacola Beach we had the opportunity to take the Phantom up for my first video of a beach.
This is a video from the Nevada ghost town of Metropolis taken with our Phantom. It was a great day exploring this awesome town with a colorful history.
Steelhead spey fishing is a very photographic sport and I was lucky enough to spend some time filming Robert Price on great day on the Salmon River in Idaho.
We were fortunate enough to spend a “white” Thanksgiving with Toni’s sister in Salmon, Idaho. I took advantage of the newly fallen snow and put together this short video.
Ghost towns are a special part of our country’s past and we seek the out in our travels. They give us a glimpse into the past and filming these videos I can almost see the people walking the old streets! This ghost town is names Kirwin and is located in Wyoming.
On a drive through Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks we could not resist setting up the GoPro and attempting to capture the amazing drive.
We had the great fortune to participate in a mountain bike event at “The Wedge” in Utah. The location was amazing, camped right on the rim of what they call the little grand canyon. Took the Phantom out for a flight
Enjoying the awesome mountain pass trails in Colorado, I put together a video using a combination of GoPro and Phantom footage. Not sure we even came close to capturing just how amazing it was.
While spending time at our summer cabin in Forest Lakes Arizona the Phantom got out and explored the sky around our community fishing pond.
I was fortunate enough to film a family of hawks in the Arizona desert, made for some terrific footage.
